This week’s activities

Each key person will be responsible for designing an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.

If the key person is on holiday or off, another staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the children do not miss out.

Buttercups

Tuesday –  Charlotte’s group will be hiding and finding shells in the sand pit.

Wednesday – Nilem’s group is singing number songs “Once I Caught a Fish Alive”

Thursday- Charlotte’s group are creating Easter art

Friday – Emma’s group will be naming parts of their bodies.

 

Bluebells

Tuesday – Josie’s group are looking at shapes and taking turns to choose a shape card.

Wednesday – Donna’s group will be singing counting songs and counting up to 10.

Thursday – Donna’s group is dancing to Bhangra music  with scarves and streamers

Friday – Josie’s group will be practising dressing themselves with the role play clothes.

 

Sunflowers

The topic for March and April is “Music and Musicians”. If you have anything at home that links to this topic please can we have it for our interest table? Please make sure any items brought in are labelled. Books of the fortnight are:

1-8th April : My Favourite Nursery Rhymes

15-22nd April : Miss Polly had a Dolly.

Tuesday – Jess’ group will be talking about texture as they explore cornflour.

Wednesday – Alison is supporting the children as they take part in a threading activity.

Thursday – Chloe’s group will be using their name cards to recognise their names.

Friday – Jess’s group is matching colours and shapes.

Tuesday – Charlotte’s group will be filling and emptying baskets.

Wednesday - Nilem’s group is developing their creative skills with a gluing and sticking activity.

Thursday – Charlotte’s group are playing “hello” and “goodbye” games with each other.

Charlotte is off Wednesday, Nilem is off Tuesday, Emma is off Thursday, Magda is off Monday and Sophie is in all week.

Monday - Leanne’s group are building towers as they count cubes.

Tuesday – Donna’s group will be reading the story of the gingerbread man.

Wednesday – Donna’s group is playing with the small world toys.

Thursday – Josie’s group will be exploring construction toys

Donna is off Monday and Thursday, Josie is off Monday and Tuesday, Leanne and Rose are in all week.

Childcare vouchers

Correction from last week’s email, the information on childcare vouchers was out of date. However for those of you who have not yet signed the petition to increase the amount that can be put into childcare vouchers here is another chance.


 

Traffic

The highways agency are still resurfacing Sydenham Road, so there may be delays.

Monday – Charlotte’s group will be playing with dolls as they develop their communication skills.

Tuesday – Nilem’s group are exploring the sizes as they use different containers in the sand tray.

Wednesday – Emma’s group is using toys with buttons as they play with ICT toys.

Thursday – Charlotte’s group will be looking at the book “My First Word Book”

Friday – Emma’s group are exploring the treasure basket together.

Charlotte is off Friday, Emma is off Thursday, Nilem is off Friday, Magda is off Monday and Tuesday and Sophie is in all week.

Childcare policy

As you have all probably seen in the news the Government have a new publication “More Great Childcare”, the proposals in this publication are currently open for consultation.

Some of the proposals include increasing child: adult ratios and as this will affect your children I thought you might like the opportunity to read the proposals:

Free Early Education For Two Year olds (FEET)

We are now able to offer funding for some two year olds alongside funding for our three year olds(EYFE).

Unlike the EYFE, FEET is not universally available to all families yet but it is worth checking to see if you qualify.

The qualifying criteria will continue to expand so I will keep you updated so if you do not qualify now you may be able to at a later stage. If you do qualify please let me know and we can start applying for your FEET funding.

Non Attendance

If your child is not attending the nursery on the day they are expected to please can you call us or email to let us know. We need to ensure we have accurate registers to comply with OFSTED  regulations. Many Thanks.

Monday- Charlotte’s group are exploring jigsaw puzzles as they learn about shapes.

Tuesday- Nilem’s group are exploring objects in the treasure basket

Wednesday- Emma’s group will developing physical skills as they play outside.

Thursday-Charlotte’s group will be using playdough and making marks and patterns in it.

Friday – Emma’s group is looking at the touch and feel books and talking about what they see.

 

Bluebells

Monday – Donna’s group are talking about emotions as they play with the emotions dolls.

Tuesday – Leanne’s group is developing their physical and social skills as they roll balls to each other.

Wednesday- Donna’s group will be taking turns and sharing as they play with the small world toys.

Thursday – Josie’s group are talking about vehicles as they read the transport books

Friday- Josie’s group will be building with mobilo bricks and creating models.
