Parents and Carers,
This
week’s events:
Forest
School – Today we went on a bug hunt to see what we could
find in the forest! We then discovered logs and moved in different ways on
them. We also had a group snack together in the forest.
In2Sports
– This week we moved around in different ways,
pretending to be different animals moving backwards, forwards and sideways. We
then took part in a colour recognition game where we had to manoeuvre around
the garden finding the different coloured cones.
Parents
Evening
Thank you to everyone who came to parents evening
last week. If anyone was unable to come bout would like to catch up with
child’s Key Person please let us know and we can arrange this.
Stick
Man
The pre-school room had a great trip to G Live to
watch the Stick Man. They all enjoyed the show and didn’t stop talking about it
all day!

This week’s activities
Each key person will be responsible for designing
an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are
in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.
If the key person is on holiday or off, another
staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the
children do not miss out.

Buttercups
Topic of the month: Under the sea
Monday – Charlotte’s group are singing number songs
related to ‘under the sea’ developing an awareness of number names
Tuesday – Charlotte’s group will be helping with
hygiene routines while cooking mini pizzas for tea
Wednesday – Mel’s group are reading stories with
puppets encouraging children to share their excitement with their friends
Thursday – Nilem’s group is discovering the
dressing up clothes developing an interest in imaginative play
Friday – Mel’s group will be playing ‘Peek a Boo’
with the parachute promoting children to listen and interact with others
Charlotte is off Wednesday, Mel is off Tuesday and
Nilem and Sammy are in all week.
Bluebells
Topic of the month: Family
Monday – Donna’s group is exploring media while
creating shapes with playdough
Tuesday – Chloe’s’ group are making dominoes
biscuits with their friends support counting skills
Wednesday – Megan’s group is playing a group game
with a ball supporting turn taking skills and building relationships with
others
Thursday – Donna’s group will be discovering the
different sounds animals make developing language and an interest in the world
around them
Friday – Megan’s group is using playdough and
different tools to make marks in the playdough encouraging a pincer grip
Donna is off Wednesday, Chloe is off Thursday and
Friday, Carla is in all week and Megan is on holiday all week.
Sunflowers
The Sunflowers have one detailed weekly focused
activity to ensure all the children have the opportunity to take part in it.
This will work alongside their weekly planned
activity list which you can see in the room and on the ILD’S.
This week’s activity is: trying out ‘Simon Says’
with friends
The children will be playing ‘Simon Says’ with
their friends. Each child will take a turn to be ‘Simon’, they will be
supported to say an instruction that their friends will follow. The activity
will be extended and the children will be encouraged to say and follow 2 – 3
instructions at a time. This activity is supporting the children’s listening,
and attention skills as well as understanding.
