Dear
Parents and Carers,
Nursery
News:
Parent
Surveys
Surveys
have been sent out to you all regarding the care and service you receive at our
nursery. We would really appreciate your input, so that we can review what we
are doing and develop our nursery further. These surveys are not being read as
they come in, and will be analysed and sent to our nursery after the 23rd of
November. If there is anything important you want to share or discuss
imminently, please see the nursery manager about it directly.
If
you have not received a survey, it may be because you have ‘opted out’ of
Survey Monkey surveys in the past. If you want to be involved in the survey and
have not received one, please let me know and I will arrange a link to be sent
to you to complete it.
Family
books
All
the rooms are going to be creating new family books, please can we ask you to
bring in a few photos so we can make one for every child. Feel free to email
them across and I can print them off for you. We aim to have this complete by
the end of November. Thank you in advance.
Autumn/Winter Menus
The Autumn/Winter menus will be going live the week
of the 12th. If you have any questions about the new menus please
let us know.
Nativity and Carol Service
It has reached that time of the year again where we
are starting to organise the Christmas productions! Buttercups and
Bluebells will be holding two carol service’s on Monday 10th
December at 3.00 and 4.30. The Sunflowers will be performing their nativity on
Tuesday 11th December at 9.45 and 4.15. We thought we’d give
you plenty of notice so you can make arrangements with work. Each room
will have a certain amount of seats for each performance so if there is a
performance time you need please let your room know as soon as possible as
usually the later performances fill up quickly. Tickets will be limited to two
per family. There will be a waiting list for extra tickets if spaces are not
filled. This will be on a first come first served basis.
Children
in Need
The
week of the 12th November we are raising money for Children In Need.
To help raise money for this year’s Children In Need we will be having cake
sales at nursery, having dressing up days all week, a colouring competition and
a fun parent game for you to get involved with. You will all be given our
parent game as a paper copy from your child’s room, but I will attach it to the
newsletter next week in case you would like to send it back online J All
donations will go to this year’s Children In Need. With our donations we can make a
real difference to the lives of children all across the UK.

This
week’s activities and event-
French
– During
French we built our confidence saying “Oui, Bonjour and Non” to each other when
answering questions in pairs. We also started learning our colours, this week
we started with the colour yellow “Jaune”.
Nature
club – At
this week’s Nature club we made hot Chocolate to have with our snack. We also
explored the wood pretending to be different animals that might live in the
woods.
Forest
School –
This week during Forest School we had to work as a team to move big logs up a
hill using ropes, promoting our commutation, problem solving and team work
skills. We also got creative making clay faces and sticking them to the trees!
We can’t wait until next week to go back to find our clay faces.
Next
week’s activities:
Each
key person will be responsible for designing an activity based on their key
children’s needs; however, all children who are in on that day will have the
opportunity to access the activity too.
If
the key person is on holiday or off, another staff member will be able to lead
the activity in their place so that the children do not miss out.

support our planning and practice, please visit:

(the 15 hours funding), Free Early Education for Two year olds and Early Years
Pupil Premium (EYPP).
Our Policy of the Week:
Early years
pupil premium (EYPP) policy
Aim of the policy
To give clear guidance on what Earl Years
Pupil Premium is and how it is used.
Points to consider
Early Years Pupil Premium was introduced in
April 2015
What is Early Years Pupil
Premium?
Early Years Pupil Premium is additional
funding for early years settings to improve the education they provide for
disadvantaged 3 and 4 year olds.
Who can claim Early Years
Pupil Premium?
All providers delivering funded early
education places will be eligible to receive the Early Years Pupil Premium.
What is the eligibility
criteria?
o
The Early Years Pupil Premium can be claimed
by the parent for the setting if a child at their setting is accessing free
early education for 3 and 4 year olds and the child’s parent or carer receives
one of the following benefits:
o
Income Support
o
Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
o
Income-related Employment and Support
Allowance
o
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and
Asylum Act 1999
o
The guaranteed element of State Pension
Credit
o
Child Tax Credit (provided the family is not
also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more
than £16,190)
o
Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks
after a family stops qualifying for Working Tax Credit).
o
Or the child falls into one of the following
groups:
o
Looked after by the local authority
o
Adopted from care
o
Has left care through a special guardianship
arrangement
o
Is subject to a child arrangement order
(previously known as a residence order)
How much will I be paid?
Early Years Pupil Premium is paid at a
national rate set by the government and reviewed annually.
The role of the setting in
promoting the Early Years Pupil Premium to parents and carers
The setting will promote the Early Years
Pupil Premium to all parents and carers and encourage them to advise the
setting of their eligibility.
Uptake is voluntary and we understand that
some parents will choose not to identify themselves as meeting the eligibility
criteria.
How can the setting will
spend the Early Years Pupil Premium?
Early years providers can choose how they
wish to spend the Early Years Pupil Premium but they should use evidence about
what works when making this decision and it must raise the quality of their
early years education offer.
This could be through:
o
Pooling the Early Years Pupil Premium to
purchase shared services such as an Early Years Graduate or a Speech and
Language Therapist
o
Buying services from teaching schools
alliances
o
Improving staff member’s qualifications
o
Accessing training or providing additional
staff to implement specific strategies
