Dear
Parents and Carers,
Forest
School
Today
for Forest School we didn't have the minivan so went on an adventure! We found
a small wooded area just up the road from nursery and went in to explore. We
were very excited and enjoyed exploring somewhere new. We started by making elf
and fairy pictures using leaves, flowers and grass. We then had a game where
Lee hid 8 toy people and we had to find them. We all enjoyed trying to find
them, Lee hid them really well! We then enjoyed making stick men and
rolling down a slope, we had lots of fun!

Illness
We

child’s hair, they can return to nursery after being treated with a medicated
lotion or spray, available from a pharmacy. We have also had 2 cases of a
stomach bug, please keep your child away from nursery for 48 hours after their
last episode of sickness.
Lost
Clothes
Sunflowers are still missing a reversible jojo maman bebe jacket, it’s dark blue on
one side and red and white on the other (age 2), also a green pair of Gap

mistake!

Each key person will be responsible for designing
an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are
in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.
If the key person is on holiday or off, another
staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the
children do not miss out.

Sleeping children procedure
Aim of policy
To ensure all sleeping children are cared for to a high
standard when sleeping.
Points to consider
All
children who sleep at nursery must sleep in an appropriate bed or cot. It is
inappropriate for children to sleep in rockers, bouncers, prams or any other
equipment that is not for the purpose of sleeping.
Whilst
a young child or baby is sleeping, there needs to be enough staff to ensure
that sleep checks are thoroughly carried out in accordance with the supporting
paperwork.
Sleep
checks must be at a minimum of 10 minute intervals and will include a
temperature and breathing check with the minimum of disturbance to the child.
Clothing
and covers must be checked and consideration given to the room temperature.
Flexible
sleep routines support the individual needs of the children.
Where
possible the children will sleep in the same cot each time. The hygiene
procedures ensure that the bedding is washing and fresh for each child.
