2 Sports – This
week at in 2 Sports we had Coach Alex as Coach Pasha was on holiday. We
practiced moving around the garden in different ways. We then discovered the
tennis rackets and balls and practiced hitting them to our friends J

Visit
The
mobile farm is coming to visit us on Wednesday (19th July).
If
your child is not in on this day but would like to pop along, they can come in
between the following times: Babies 9-9.30am. Bluebells 9.30-10.15am.
Sunflowers 10.15-11.00am. They will need to be accompanied by an adult.
School
Leavers
Please
remember we will still need a months’ notice for children leaving. Additionally,
if you would like your child to stay on past the 1st September
please let us know so we can add these sessions on J

This week’s activities
Each key person will be responsible for designing
an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are
in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.
If the key person is on holiday or off, another
staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the
children do not miss out.

Topic of the month: Under the Sea
Monday – Montse’s group are reading the ‘Down in
the Jungle’ book with their friends building listening and attention skills
Tuesday – Leanne’s group will be exploring
media and materials while using large sheets of paper on the floor and a
variety of resources
Wednesday – Charlotte’s group are counting items
into a bucket building early counting skills
Thursday – Nilem’s group is discovering the small
world road and vehicles developing an interest in the world around them
Friday – Sammy’s group are using different boxes
and trays to explore tools and media supporting physical skills
Charlotte is off Monday, Leanne is off Wednesday -
Friday, Nilem is off Monday and Tuesday, Sammy and Montse are in all week.
Bluebells
Topic of the month: Minibeasts
Monday – Donna’s group will be exploring their
family pictures building a sense of belonging
Tuesday – Donna’s group is discovering the animal
soundtrack developing listening and attention skills
Wednesday – Megan’s group are reading the
‘Gruffalo’ story with their friends building an interest in stories
Thursday – Megan’s group will be building
their own patterns using a variety of shapes developing an understanding of
shapes
Friday– Ruby’s group is developing their
recognition and understanding of emotions and feelings while creating happy and
sad pictures
Donna is off Monday, Megan is off Friday, Ruby is
in all week.
Sunflowers
The Sunflowers have one detailed weekly focused
activity to ensure all the children have the opportunity to take part in it.
The Key People link this activity to their individual Key Groups.
This will work alongside their weekly planned
activity list which you can see in the room and on the ILD’S.
This week’s activity: Building reading skills
The children will be encouraged to choose a book
they do not recognise, they will be encouraged to predict what is going to
happen in the story. Throughout the children will be supported to hear and say
initial sounds they hear. The activity will be extended and they will create a
picture and link it to the story.
Topic of the month: School
We will be:
Talking about going to school and which school we
are going to
Setting up the role play area as a school
Talking about what to expect when we go to school
Developing independence such as using the toilet
independently, putting our own shoes on and doing up our own zips and buttons.

Aim of policy
Childcare and Learning
Group, as an employer, are committed to providing and maintaining a healthy and
safe working environment for all its employees, children, parents and families
in attendance at our nurseries and other people who may be affected
by its activities.
The overall responsibility
for ensuring implementation of this policy lies with the company board. However
it is important to emphasise that the responsibility for Health and Safety is
part of all staff’s job role. This statement applies to all premises and
activities within the control of Childcare and Learning Group.
Points to consider
Childcare and Learning
Group will have in place policies and/or procedures specifically relating to;
- Child protection
- Physical environment
- Behaviour management
- Food and drink
- Medicines
- Incidents and accidents
- Arrangements for the dropping off and collection of children
Childcare and Learning Group aim to achieve this by:
As a minimum, to comply
with requirements of Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage
and other relevant legislation;
- to have in place appropriate processes and procedures to reflect the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and any relevant legislation such as Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- to ensure that employees, children, parents and families and others are adequately informed of the identified risks and where appropriate receive instruction, training and supervision;
- to safeguard the environment from the effects of activities;
- to monitor and review the effectiveness of the setting arrangements and where appropriate to implement improvements;
- to ensure that the demands of activities do not exceed the capabilities of staff or children to carry out the activity without risk to themselves or others.
- The Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with the health and safety policy within their area of control and for identifying a health and safety representative within each the setting.

Childcare and Learning
Group will actively monitor the performance of its nurseries in the management
of risks under their control and the implementation of the setting risk
assessments and health and safety action plans.
Whilst the company accepts
the main responsibility for implementation of this policy, individuals have an
important role in co-operating with those responsible to ensure a healthy and
safe working environment. Individuals are required to abide by rules and
requirements made under the authority of this policy. The setting’s Manager is
responsible for the implementation of the risk assessments and health and
safety action plans and referring any actions required or concerns to the
Director.
