Staff news

Sadly after nearly five and half years, Emma J is leaving us to move closer to her family. Emma’s last day will be Thursday 28^th February.

We do however,  have two lovely new ladies starting with us! Sophie and Magda will be joining Charlotte, Emma and Nilem in the baby room. The team will be introducing them to you all over the next few weeks.

 

Sainsbury Vouchers

Sainsbury’s are running their active kids voucher again! We have our collection box in the hallway so get your family and friends collecting!

We will be using this year’s vouchers to get some nice goodies for the gardens.

 

Parents Evening

Parents evening is coming up on Thursday 7^th March, so don’t forget to put the important date in your diary!

For those of you who haven’t attended Parents evening, the Nursery is open from 6.30-8.30 for parents to drop in, chat to their child’s key person and other parents and look through your child’s learning journey book. We also have wine and nibbles. Hope to see you all there!

 

Buttercups

Monday – Nilem’s group are developing understanding of things out of sight by playing hide and seek games.

Tuesday – Nilem’s group will be building listening skills as they share books.

Wednesday – Emma J’s group are caring for the dolls as they give them a wash.

Thursday – Charlotte’s group are exploring paints as they create their own pictures.

Friday – Emma H’s group is getting messy as they use rollers and shapes in the corn flour.

Charlotte is off Friday, Emma H is off Tuesday and Thursday, Emma J is off Monday and Nilem is off Friday.

 

Bluebells

Monday – Josie’s Group will be naming body parts as they play “Josie Says”

Tuesday – Donna’s group is sharing stories together.

Wednesday – Donna’s group are developing language skills as they explore a feely bag.

Thursday – Leanne’s group is getting creative as they sponge paint.

Friday – Josie’s Group will be looking at photos of themselves and talking about them.

Donna is off  Monday and Friday, Josie is off Tuesday and Leanne and Rose are in all week.

The topic for January and February is ‘Art and Artists’. If you have anything at home that links to this topic please can we have it for our interest table? Please make sure any items brought in are labelled. Books of the fortnight are:

11^th – 18^th – Harry and the Dinosaurs go to School – Adrian Reynolds

28^th – The Bear with Sticky Paws – Clara Williams

Monday – Chloe’s group will be exploring patterns in the environment.

Tuesday – Alison is celebrating pancake day with the children as they make their own paper pancakes and frying pans.

Wednesday – Jess’s group are developing their fine motor skills as they play the “Tap, Tap” game.

Thursday – Jess’s group are talking about shapes as they read the book: “Mouse Shapes”

Friday – Chloe’s group are working together to discover different sounds with a listening game.

Jess is off Monday, Chloe is off Wednesday and Alison does 9.30-2.30 Monday to Thursday
