week commencing 9th february

Dear Parents

Parent’s Evening

Date for your diary, parents evening is Thursday 5th March.

Pop in anytime between 6.30-8.30, to chat to your child’s key person.

You can also have a look at the next room if your child is due to move up and have the chance to talk to other parents.

Hope to see you all there!

Illness

We have had one case of chicken pox in the Bluebells room.

We have also had several children with a virus that causes a high temperature.

New Fees

From 1st March the fees are changing. I have attached another copy of the new fee schedule for you all to see.

To try and make the 15 hours of funding that three year olds receive clearer, we will be changing our fee structure from your average monthly fee minus the funding to an actual monthly fee minus the funding. You will still receive all of the funding that your child is entitled to.

Please remember that the Government does not pay funding during school holidays. Here is a list of the school holiday dates:

W/C 16th February

30th March – 10th April

4th May

W/C 25th May

End of term is 21st July and the term starts again in September so there is no funding in August.

Hopefully this will make the funding a little easier to calculate.

If you have any questions about the new fees you can contact the Operations Manager Natalie Chrystie on: natalie@daycare.co.uk or her Mobile: 07789268241

Menus

There are a few changes to this week’s menu due to our new fridge arriving at some point on Monday! Monday night’s tea will now be various savoury sandwiches and both snacks will be savoury snacks.

If you would like to see a copy of our allergens menu at any time please ask!

Policies of the week

We are currently updating our policies. When these are finished we would like some of our parents to review them.

All you would need to do is read some or all of the policies and give some feedback on them.

If you are interested please let me know.

This week’s activities

Each key person will be responsible for designing an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.

If the key person is on holiday or off, another staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the children do not miss out.

For more information on the Early Years Foundation stage, the guidance we use to support our planning and practice, please visit:

This week’s planned activities are also are now on the ILD’S

Forest School

The Forest school group explored the snow on the grass, they saw lots of tracks in the snow from birds, dogs, squirrels and humans.  Lee made moulds in the tracks from ‘plaster of Paris’.

They drew snowmen in the snow using sticks for arms and nuts for eyes and also drew shapes in the snow.

The children had lots of fun playing ‘hide-and-seek’ in the woods too!
