week commencing 1st September


Dear Parents

 

Parents Evening

Parents Evening is Thursday 11th September from 6.30-8.30.

Pop in anytime to talk to your child’s key person and find out how they are progressing at nursery.

There will be a “getting ready for school” and Forest school presentation in Sunflowers from 6.30- 6.45

Hope to see you all there!

 

Family photos

Please can all the Bluebell and Baby room parents email in a family photo.

We are creating family displays to further promote our home/ nursery bond.

 

Menus

There are no planned changes to this week’s menu.

 

 
This week’s activities

Each key person will be responsible for designing an activity based on their key children’s needs; however, all children who are in on that day will have the opportunity to access the activity too.

If the key person is on holiday or off, another staff member will be able to lead the activity in their place so that the children do not miss out.

Buttercups

Monday – Nilem’s group are exploring the play duvet as they build physical skills

Tuesday – Nilem’s group will be developing listening and attention skills as they sing “Five Little Ducks”

Wednesday – Julia’s group is exploring everyday objects for the children to explore as they play with a pretend office

Thursday – Charlotte’s group are playing games and making up stories using the puppets

Friday – Magda’s group is using their senses to explore cornflour gloop

Charlotte is off Monday, Julia is off all week, Magda is off Tuesday and Nilem is off Friday

 

Bluebells

Monday – Rose’s group is building listening skills as they follow instructions at Sport Stars

Tuesday – Leanne’s group are developing hand eye coordination as they build towers with blocks

Wednesday – Donna’s group will be taking their own photos using real cameras

Thursday – Leanne’s group are building friendships as they use the emotion dolls to talk about feelings

Friday – Chloe’s group is recognising shapes in the environment and in books.

Donna is off on Friday, Leanne is off Wednesday, Chloe is off Thursday and Rose is off Tuesday.

 

Sunflowers

18th – 25th August – My Mum is Great by Marks and Spencer

1st – 8th September – Dilly Duckling by Claire Freedman

15th – 22nd September – Always and  Forever by Debi Gliari and Alan Durant

The Sunflowers have one detailed weekly focused activity to ensure all the children have the opportunity to take part in it.

This will work alongside their weekly planned activity list which you can see in the room.

 

Our activity this week is:

Junk Modelling

 

The learning intentions are:

To encourage the children to use one handed tools such as scissors

To support children to use tools safely

To develop both fine and gross motor skills and hand eye coordination

Our activities are:

Creating pictures of queens

Writing with quills

Naming words beginning with Q

Using quilts for our teddy bear picnic

Having a mini quiz and asking our friends questions

Jess is off Friday, Sophie is off Monday and Friday and Becci is in all week
